programs :: preparatory strings

The PREPARATORY STRINGS is the beginning-level string program of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras. Weekly rehearsals focus on technique, ensemble performance skills, basic string repertoire, and required beginning-level theory. Preparatory Strings students have the opportunity to perform as a string orchestra within an encouraging environment. Led by Conductor Daniella Valdez, the program is open to string musicians who have played their instrument for at least two years and have basic music reading skills.
