Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras (CYSO) Announces Encore Chamber Orchestra Performance at Roosevelt University, Ganz HallFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: The CYSO Encore Chamber Orchestra will be performing works by Beethoven, Pierné and Shostakovich at Roosevelt University, Ganz Hall on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. under the direction of Music Director, Allen Tinkham. Also included on the program are soloists Julia Coronelli, harp and Benjamin Lash, cello. Benjamin Lash is 16 years old and is a sophomore at Evanston Township High School. He has studied cello since he was six years old and is a student of Tanya Carey at the DePaul University Community Music Division. Julia Coronelli has been in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras for nine years, holding the position of principal harp in the Symphony Orchestra since 2002. She studies with Sarah Bullen at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, where she is a harp performance major. CYSO's Encore Chamber Orchestra provides specialized training and performance opportunities to serious career-track musicians and is a sixty member ensemble composed of the Chicago area's top young musicians. Encore repertoire includes the most challenging of classic and contemporary works. The orchestra performs at major Chicago venues and has been featured on Public Radio International's From the Top .
