Greetings Friends and Family of the CYSO!
On behalf of the CYSO staff, I would like to sincerely thank all of the parents and friends who volunteered for various activities this past fall. You have helped us achieve success!
You may have noticed recently that you received a letter from the CYSO asking for you to make a donation of $60 or more to the organization for this special 60th Anniversary Season. This appeal is to ensure that the CYSO continues its mission of offering the best possible music training and engagement programs to Chicago area youth. As you may know, tuition covers only one-fifth of the total cost of operating the CYSO, the rest is earned through our fundraising efforts. What you may not know is that although we get financial support from corporations, foundations and government entities in the area, well over half of our donations come from individuals like you.
Please take the time to donate to the CYSO this season. Everything you give greatly enhances the lives of many young people throughout Chicago. Your support is 100% tax deductible, so be sure to make your contribution before December 31!

Upcoming Auditions
2007-2008 Season Auditions are quickly approaching. Season auditions will take place in March and April, and current students will automatically be assigned an audition time. New students interested in auditioning should check our website in January for complete audition details and dates.

Get to know the CYSO Board
Albert Pick, III
Albert Pick has been a CYSO board member for over five years and currently serves as the Chair of the nominating committee. He is also on the board of Union League Boys and Girls Clubs and the Albert Pick Jr. Fund. In the past Al has held positions at ABN AMRO and the Chicago Corporation and most recently was the Interim Executive Director of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, where he also currently serves as a board member. He has been married to his wife Kaye for 22 years and has four children and nine grandchildren.

Great Opportunities for CYSO Members!

Cartoon Network is proud to announce a new initiative that supports and applauds especially gifted kids who are ready to take their talents to the next level. We're looking for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 16 who are unusually talented in sports, music, dance, video gaming, community service, engineering, model building, robotics or create your own category for exceptional kids!
Fifteen superstar kids will be filmed and showcased on cartoonnetwork.com. America will vote for their favorites, and the top six kids will be featured in a one-hour special on Cartoon Network.
If you know of a kid who deserves to be on TV, please email us as soon as possible at supergood@megtv.com. Tell us in 200 words or less what he or she excels in, and why you think they stand out! Please let us know your relationship to the child and their age, as well as all your contact information, including phone, email, and where the child lives.
