Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras Announces New Director of Development: R. Scott Dodson

R. Scott Dodson joins the staff of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras (CYSO) as the Director of Development on Monday, December 12, 2005 . Mr. Dodson comes to the CYSO from Philadelphia , Pennsylvania where he worked as the Senior Manager of Development for The Wilma Theater. He brings extensive experience in annual fundraising campaigns, grant writing, marketing, volunteer management and special events planning.

Mr. Dodson's has also worked in various capacities with The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts in Vienna , Virginia ; The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC ; and The Bas Bleu Theatre Company in Fort Collins , Colorado .

He holds a Masters Degree in Arts Management from American University in Washington , DC and a Bachelor of Music from James Madison University in Harrisonburg , Virginia .
