Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras (CYSO) Concert Orchestra Performs World Premiere of John Uth’s Dance #1 for Orchestra

Winner of five ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming, the CYSO Concert Orchestra under the direction of Terrance Gray will perform the world premiere of John Uth's Dance #1 for Orchestra on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at 3:00 p.m.

In addition to Uth's piece, the concert will feature 16 year old flautist Masha Popova of Oak Park , winner of the Concert Orchestra 2005 Concerto Competition on Chaminade's Concertino. Mendelssohn's 5 th Symphony and Mussorgsky's well known Night on Bald Mountain are also on the program

Masha Popova is currently the co-principal of the Concert Orchestra and in her third year with CYSO. Her recent awards include the first place Collins Scholarship from the American opera Society in Chicago . She is a former memer of the Merit School of Music, and we recently accepted into the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia .
