This concert presents traditional songs from Shaker melodies to Negro spirituals that truly evoke the American spirit.
Music comes alive in the deft hands of guitarist Christopher Parkening, while baritone Jubilant Sykes brings a new dimension to the traditional. Then cross the Atlantic to France when organist Stephen Alltop and members of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras join together in the thundering "Organ Symphony."
