Robert Schumann- Symphony No.4, op.120, D minor

The Encore Chamber Orchestra is formed from the top CYSO students upon invitation of the CYSO Music Director. Encore students benefit from specialized training for serious, career-track musicians and performances at major Chicago venues and events each year. Highlights from the 2005-06 season include performances at the Chicago Humanities Festival, the City of Chicago's 9th annual Celtic Fest and a performance on the Public Radio International series “From the Top”. In addition to annual fall and spring concerts, Encore also performs education concerts and an annual production of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker in collaboration with the Salt Creek Ballet. During June 2005 Encore completed a ten day Central European tour to Vienna, Prague and Budapest, and became the first youth orchestra to perform in the new National Concert Hall in Budapest, Hungary.
