board of directors :: John Roberts, vice chair

John Roberts joined the CYSO Board in 1995 when his daughter was a cellist in the CYCO. Although as a youngster in New York he attended the Young People's Concerts of the Philharmonic - his real interest did not develop until high school when he became a charter subscriber to the American Symphony Orchestra concerts.

John has always had an interest in the entry level ensembles of the CYSO and its educational outreach mission. He has served as the Secretary of the Board for the last 6 years.

John moved to Chicago to study history at the University of Chicago and in a slight detour founded - and has continued to lead- the Kitchen Supply Co. - a company which manufactures, imports, and distributes kitchen gadgets throughout the U.S.
