We have arrived safely in Rosario, Argentina! Our day started with an antique market in Buenos Aires this morning. We then decided to take advantage of the long bus ride by asking our students for their thoughts on their favorite part of the tour so far. Here is what some of them said...

"I love the totally different culture and the experience of trying to find your way around with only Spanish. Now I am glad I had to take Spanish in middle school! The audiences are so welcoming and fun, I wish we could perform down here more often. I am so glad we have this amazing opportunity to visit South America!"
- Danny Taubenheim, trumpet

"I really enjoyed the flea market today. There was something for everyone! I also love the beef."
- Michael Rau, violin

"Turning a corner outside of La Facultad de Derecho to find audience members whistling themes from the pieces we performed. Knowing that the audience took a piece of CYSO's enthusiasm and musical excitement was awesome."
- Renee Vogen, horn

"I definitely liked the tango show. It was really entertaining. I also like the coffee here."
- Stephen Ilhardt, double bass

"It is fascinating to witness the appreciation, for music truly has no boundaries. Expecting to perform in scantily filled venues, I was in awe to see hundreds of music lovers flooding into the halls, eager to observe young talent in the making. Their reception of our performances far exceeded my expectations. CYSO's successful South American tour proves that music really can unify cultures."
- Addison Xu, cello

"The tango show was awesome!! The food is exceptional...  Ooo, and the concerts are so great; the audiences love us. :) Ciao!"
- Julia Ghica, violin

"I got to meet two Argentine bassists after our Buenos Aires concert. The people here are so nice. Hola Leandro y Federico!"
- Adam Davis, contrabassist

"Warm winter, fantastic steak, tango, cheap leather; I could find a hundred more reasons to live here."
- Allan Steele, cello

"The city is so beautiful, the concert halls are wonderful, but I really enjoy getting to know everyone and meeting the locals!"
- Devyn Manschot, bass

"My favorite part of tour has been being with people I love, while doing what I love. While having the opportunity to enjoy time spent with my friends and peers, I have also had the invaluable chance to be enriched, being immersed in a land of totally different culture."
- Kevin Hu, violin

From all of us on the CYSO South American Tour... Feliz Dia del Padre! and Happy Father's Day!
