Sure, you’ve heard Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, and if you are currently a member of CYSO’s Concert Orchestra, you’re playing it. But, have you ever wondered what it would be like as a computer game?

Lucky you. It’s Friday, and you have the whole weekend ahead to become a pro at the “Bravo Gustavo” conducting game over on the Los Angeles Philharmonic website! Click here to play.

Let us know your high score and we’ll let you know ours!

In other fun music news, in England there was a recent performance of 90-second “symphony” for bicycles. The score, by Argentinean composer Mauricio Kagel, calls for 111 bicyclists, but only 30 showed up to participate in this particular performance. Members of the London Chamber Orchestra made sure everything went according to plan. Click here to read the article and watch the video.

(Someone in Chicago should get together the full 111 cyclists…hint, hint.)

Happy weekend to you from all of us!

Laters,

Kathryn

Re: Fantastique Friday

I played that game 10 times and could not get higher than 6740. Anyone else?
