Is there anything better than a warm sunny day? How about a warm sunny day where 750 Chicago Public School students get to learn about instruments and hear wonderful orchestral music performed by CYSO’s own Debut Orchestra at the Chicago Cultural Center?

Thanks to The International Music Foundation working in conjunction with us, that’s exactly what happened this past Friday morning at our Education Concert.

I’m a pianist (and harpsichordist...harpsichord is so hard core, I love it) and have a couple of degrees in music history. How would you listen differently if you felt the sound? Evelyn Glennie is a percussionist who happens to have severely impaired hearing. So, in order to “listen” she actually “feels” the sound through the vibrations of the rhythms.
