Public Transportation

CYSO performs primarily at the Fine Arts Building and Symphony Center, both located on Michigan Avenue in Chicago's South Loop. Both locations are easily accessible by public transportation or by car, with many parking options located within walking distance.

Public Transportation
Taxis are almost always available on Michigan Avenue. You can also reach the Fine Arts Building and Symphony Center by MetraCTA bus and CTA train.

Directions to give a cab driver: "Please take me to the Fine Arts Building at 410 South Michigan Avenue,” or “Symphony Center at 220 South Michigan Avenue."

Metra:

• The Van Buren Metra station is only a short walk away.

• From Union Station (located at Canal and Adams), take CTA bus 60 or 126.

• From Olgilvy Center/Northwestern Station (at Madison and Canal), take CTA bus 20.


CTA bus:

Many CTA bus lines serve the Fine Arts Building and Symphony Center.

• Bus lines North - South along Michigan Ave. are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 20, 56, 60, 145, 147, 151.

• 126 runs East - West along Jackson to Michigan.

• 29 and 62 drop off on State Street.


CTA train:
  EL

• Take the Brown, Purple, Orange or Green line to the Library El stop for the Fine Arts Building or to the Adams/Wabash El stop for Symphony Center.

• Take the Red line to Jackson/State subway stop.

• Take the Blue line to Jackson/Dearborn subway stop.

Driving Directions and Parking

Directions to the Fine Arts Building and Symphony Center from the City, Suburbs and O'Hare Airport are below. Our preferred parking garage and discount information are also included.

Driving Directions:

From the City, north of the loop
Take Lake Shore Drive south. Exit on Randolph. Take Randolph to Michigan Avenue and turn left. Symphony Center is on your right just past Adams Street and the Fine Arts Building is on your right just past Van Buren Street.

From the City, south of the loop
Take Lake Shore Drive north past Soldier Field. Before Grant Park you will make a left at Balbo. Make the second right, which is Michigan Avenue. The Fine Arts Building will be on your left just after Congress and Symphony Center will be on your left just after Jackson.

From the Northern Suburbs
Take I-94 to the Kennedy Expressway, I-90/94. Continue through the city. Take the Monroe Street exit east to Michigan Avenue. Make a right on Michigan. Symphony Center is on your right just past Adams Street and the Fine Arts Building is on your right just past Van Buren Street.

From O'Hare Airport and the Northwestern Suburbs
Use I-90 east to the Kennedy Expressway, I-90/94 heading towards Chicago. Continue through the city. Take the Monroe Street exit east to Michigan Avenue. Make a right on Michigan. Symphony Center is on your right just past Adams Street and the Fine Arts Building is on your right just past Van Buren Street.

From the Western Suburbs
Take the Eisenhower Expressway, I-290 east through the city on Congress until you reach Michigan Avenue. Make a left at Michigan. The Fine Arts Building will be on your left just after Congress and Symphony Center will be on your left just after Jackson.

From the Southwestern Suburbs
Take I-88 east, which becomes the Eisenhower Expressway heading towards Chicago. Follow that through the city on Congress until you reach Michigan Avenue. Make a left at Michigan. The Fine Arts Building will be on your left just after Congress and Symphony Center will be on your left just after Jackson.

From the Southern and Southeastern Suburbs
Take the Dan Ryan Expressway, I-90/94 north to the Lake Shore Drive exit. You are now on I-55 east. Take the Lake Shore Drive North exit and follow Lake Shore Drive north to Balbo. Make a left on Balbo and then your second right, which is Michigan Avenue. The Fine Arts Building will be on your left just after Congress and Symphony Center will be on your left just after Jackson.

Parking:

CYSO's preferred parking garage is located at 17 E. Adams Street at the southwest corner of Adams and Wabash. It has entrances on both Adams and Wabash.

Visitors to all CYSO events may receive discounted parking rates of:
  • $10 all day on Saturday & Sunday
  • $10 Monday - Friday for up to 12 hours with entrance after 4:00 pm
  • $16 Monday - Friday for up to 12 hours with entrance before 9:00 am
  • $20 Monday - Friday for up to 12 hours with entrance after 9:00 am

To receive your discount, please pick up a rebate voucher from a CYSO staff member during your visit.
