Masterclass Series
CYSO Masterclasses

CYSO’s Masterclass series brings together world renowned musicians and instrumental students of all ages from throughout the Midwest. Masterclasses are free and open to the public and offer not only a meaningful experience to the students and artists, but to the audience as well.

This year’s Masterclass Series features programs led by CSO Tubist Gene Pokorny (November 6, 2008), ETHEL String Quartet (January 22, 2009) and the Amelia Piano Trio (April 16, 2009).

In addition, CYSO will be offering a Masterclass entitled “Getting into College 101”. Please join this panel discussion on Thursday, September 25 to find out everything you wanted to know about the college admissions and music audition process...but didn't know to ask. The panel will consist of college admissions officers, financial aid experts and faculty and staff of some of the finest area Universities and Schools of Music.

All Masterclasses are free and open to the public and take place on Thursday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in Curtiss Hall (10th floor) of the Fine Arts Building (410 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago).
