Audition Requirements
Auditions are approximately 8 minutes long.
Please note that audition judges may ask any candidate to sight read.

Strings
• Two contrasting movements or solo pieces
• Orchestral excerpt provided by CYSO 
    Your excerpt will be provided after your application is received. The orchestral excerpt is only required if you wish to be considered for Symphony Orchestra. If you wish to be considered for Concert Orchestra, Debut Orchestra, Preparatory Strings II, Preparatory Strings or Chamber Music, you do not need to prepare it.

Winds & Brass
• Two contrasting movements or solo pieces 
• Three orchestral excerpts of your choice

Percussion
• One solo piece each on two of the following instruments: 
  marimba, snare, timpani 
• One orchestral excerpt each on snare and xylophone

Harp & Piano
• Two contrasting movements or solo pieces
• Two orchestral excerpts of your choice
• Piano: If you are only auditioning for Chamber Music, you do not need to prepare any orchestral excerpts
