Saturday, October 24, 2009 – 7:30 pm

Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Encore Chamber Orchestra will be performing a free concert at DePaul University’s Concert Hall on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.  Under the direction of CYSO Music Director Allen Tinkham, this concert will feature works by Beethoven, Barber, Debussy, Mozart and Bragato.  Be a part of the audience as 98.7 WFMT, Chicago’s Classical Music Radio Station, does a live recording of the concert for broadcast on “Introductions” later this year.

Encore will be joined by three talented soloists from the 2009 CYSO concerto competition.  All three soloists are seniors in high school.  Zachary Hammond, oboe, will play Mozart’s Oboe Concerto in C major, K.315.  Sonia Mantell, cello, will perform Bragato’s Graciela y Buenos Aires, and Andrew Sandwick, clarinet, will perform Debussy’s Rhapsody for Clarinet and Orchestra (Première Rapsodie).

Encore Chamber Orchestra (Encore) is a specialized training and performance orchestra for talented young musicians from the CYSO Symphony Orchestra who aspire to be career professionals.  Led by Music Director Allen Tinkham, Encore has amazed audiences throughout the Chicago area and the world.

This event is free and open to the public.
